FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who Would Benefit from Your Courses?
Our Fundamentals of Civil Litigation course is aimed at individuals involved in civil litigation in the County Court and High Court. While we do not cover specific areas of substantive law, the course follows the general process of civil claims. All claims in these courts are governed by the Civil Procedure Rules, which provide the framework for all cases.
For example, claims involving contracts, banking, consumer rights, property, personal injury, fraud, and similar matters are all heard in the County or High Court. There are also specialist areas with specific rules, such as insolvency and company cases. However, even these cases are subject to the general Civil Procedure Rules to some extent. Our course is broadly applicable to most civil cases, though we do not spend much time on rules and procedures specific to specialist jurisdictions.
Our Fundamentals of Courtroom Advocacy course focuses on civil hearings, but the principles and skills involved apply to all courtroom and tribunal settings. The course covers key elements of advocacy, including case preparation, opening and closing submissions, evidence in chief, and cross-examination. These skills are transferable to family, criminal, and tribunal hearings.
Our courses will also be of interest to those who simply want to gain a better understanding of civil procedure and advocacy — whether for work, study, or general interest.
