Our Current Courses and Sessions
We currently offer 2 full day courses along with our 90 minute “Question and Answer” sessions.
1. The Fundamentals of Civil Litigation
This full-day interactive course is designed for litigants in person involved in, or about to become involved in, litigation in the County Court or High Court. While it does not teach substantive law, it covers the practice, procedure, tactics, and strategy involved in these cases.
The course focuses on general cases such as money claims, debt claims, contractual and consumer matters, and property disputes. However, the principles of civil procedure are broadly applicable across most areas of civil litigation.
The course covers the full litigation process, including:
Pre-action steps (e.g., letters before action and ADR)
Claim forms and statements of case
Court directions and allocation
Disclosure and interim applications
Witness statements and expert evidence
Trial preparation and trial procedure
Judgments, costs, enforcement, and appeals
Tactics and strategy
Do’s and dont’s of running your own civil case
We also discuss legal resources available to assist litigants in person.
The course is highly practical, focusing on real-world issues and key matters to be aware of and avoid. We include plenty of time for questions and answers, with class sizes limited to 20 participants to allow for maximum interaction.
